Tractor trailer crash spills 1000 pounds of hot dogs on highway injuring four people

A tractor-trailer crash on Interstate 83 turned into a messy scene Tuesday morning when the vehicle split open and scattered thousands of frozen hot dogs across the highway in Shrewsbury Township, Pennsylvania.

The collision occurred just after 9:00 a.m. near Exit 8 (Route 216/Glen Rock), according to the Shrewsbury Volunteer Fire Company. The crash involved at least one tractor-trailer and another vehicle. Four people were injured in the incident, though the extent of their injuries has not been disclosed.

PennDOT confirmed that approximately 1,000 pounds of frozen hot dogs were spilled across the roadway, forcing temporary traffic delays as crews worked to clear the scene.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
