TRENTON, NJ – The Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the Trenton Police Department are investigating a shooting that occurred in Trenton early Monday morning that left one victim dead, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri reported. At approximately 3:47 a.m., on August 23, 2021, Trenton police responded to a ShotSpotter activation on Fountain Avenue. Responding officers located a male victim with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to the hospital in critical condition and succumbed to his injuries a few hours later. The victim has been identified as 25-year-old Yanquai Edwards of Rancocas, NJ.
