PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — Three Philadelphia men have been arrested in connection with a months-long string of organized retail thefts that targeted shoe stores across Philadelphia, surrounding counties, and New Jersey, police announced.
Between February 3 and March 22, the suspects allegedly carried out 22 thefts, stealing an estimated $28,500 in merchandise. Investigators with the Philadelphia Police Department’s Retail Theft Initiative said the coordinated operation included 10 thefts within Philadelphia city limits, totaling about $15,000 in stolen shoes, and another 12 thefts in nearby counties and New Jersey, worth approximately $13,500.
The suspects, identified as Darryl Foreman, 31; Demil Coley, also known as Demil Allen-Coley, 32; and Malik Williams, 31, are each facing multiple charges including retail theft, organized retail theft, and criminal conspiracy.
Foreman, of South Hemberger Street, is being held on $180,000 bail. Coley, of Delancey Street, was held on $90,000 bail and has several outstanding warrants in other jurisdictions. Williams, of West Rosemar Street, is currently in custody at SCI Coal Township on $30,000 bail in connection with one Philadelphia theft and has an active warrant and detainer for four more.
The investigation remains ongoing as law enforcement agencies continue to coordinate across state lines in an effort to identify any additional suspects or related incidents.
