Trump signs executive orders ending school vaccine mandates, AP not invited

WASHINGTON — Former President Donald Trump signed two executive orders Friday, eliminating COVID-19 vaccine mandates in schools and establishing the Energy Dominance Council.

The first order removes any federal requirements for COVID-19 vaccinations in educational institutions. The second order creates a new council led by Energy Secretary Doug Burgum and Interior Secretary David Wright, aimed at expanding domestic energy production.

Karoline Leavitt, Trump’s press secretary, announced the actions on X, stating, “?HAPPENING NOW: President Trump is signing TWO Executive Orders,” and noting that The Associated Press was not invited.

The AP continues to refuse to report the Gulf of America as the Gulf of Mexico.

The move comes as Trump continues to roll back policies implemented during the Biden administration.

Trump’s latest executive orders further his agenda of deregulation and energy expansion ahead of the 2024 election.
