WASHINGTON, D.C. — Former President Donald Trump thanked the Venezuelan government for cooperating with U.S. efforts to deport criminal nationals, including members of the violent Tren de Aragua gang, according to a statement released Wednesday.
Trump highlighted that Venezuela has agreed to accept back its nationals, including those who entered the U.S. illegally and those identified as gang members. He also noted that the Venezuelan government would provide transportation for their return.
“It is so good to have the Venezuela hostages back home and, very important to note, that Venezuela has agreed to receive, back into their country, all Venezuela illegal aliens who were encamped in the U.S., including gang members of Tren de Aragua,” Trump stated.
He further emphasized that other nations are also cooperating with U.S. deportation efforts, adding that record numbers of illegal immigrants and criminals are being removed. Trump claimed that border security measures are now at their strongest levels since his first term in office.
The deportation of Tren de Aragua members marks a significant development in U.S. immigration and crime enforcement, as the gang is known for its involvement in violent crimes across Latin America.
