JACKSON TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A dispute between twin brothers escalated into violence on Tuesday evening, leaving one hospitalized with a stab wound and the other facing felony charges, according to the Northern York County Regional Police Department.
Officers responded to reports of a stabbing at 6:54 p.m. in the 1200 block of Hanover Road. Upon arrival, they found Marcus Cruz, 24, bleeding heavily from his right thigh. He told police that his twin brother, Matthew Cruz, had stabbed him during an argument over a speaker.
Marcus Cruz claimed that Matthew accused him of not returning the speaker, though Marcus insisted he had. Matthew reportedly walked from his home to Marcus’s residence to confront him. The two brothers met outside, where a physical altercation broke out. During the struggle, Marcus said he felt a sharp pain and realized he had been stabbed.
Police located Matthew Cruz walking along a nearby road shortly after the incident. Officers recovered the knife believed to have been used in the stabbing. Matthew was arrested on charges of aggravated assault and transported to York County Prison, where he was arraigned with bail set at $30,000.
Marcus Cruz was treated for his injuries, though his condition has not been publicly disclosed. Authorities have not released additional details about the incident.
The case underscores the dangers of personal disputes turning violent.
