Two arrested after domestic dispute and drug discovery in Cumberland home

CUMBERLAND, Md. – Two people were arrested Saturday following a domestic assault investigation that led police to discover suspected drugs and paraphernalia inside a Cumberland residence, authorities said.

Officers with the Cumberland Police Department responded to a home on West Clement Street on December 27 for a reported domestic disturbance. When they arrived, officers reviewed surveillance video showing both parties—identified as Kayla Brenee Abe, 33, and Kyle Anthoney Keller, 32—engaged in a mutual assault.

Police said both Abe and Keller were taken into custody. During a search incident to their arrests, officers recovered suspected controlled dangerous substances (CDS) and related paraphernalia. Abe was charged with second-degree assault and possession of drug paraphernalia, while Keller was charged with second-degree assault and CDS possession.

The pair were transported to the Allegany County Detention Center for initial appearances. Abe was later released on her own recognizance pending trial, while Keller was ordered held without bond.
