STAFFORD, Va. — A routine traffic stop at a Walgreens in Stafford County led to the arrest of two Woodford residents on drug charges, according to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office. The incident occurred Friday night when Sergeant B.U. Demirci conducted a traffic stop on a Chevrolet at 50 White Oak Road.

During the stop, the driver, identified as Joshua Barr, 32, declared his sovereignty, prompting further investigation. Officers observed a white powdery substance in plain view within the vehicle, leading to a K9 unit alert and a subsequent search of the car.

Both Barr and his passenger, Summer Turner, 30, were found in possession of suspected controlled substances. Following their arrest, Turner was subjected to a strip search at the Rappahannock Regional Jail, where additional suspected controlled substances were discovered on her person.

Turner has been charged with possession of controlled substances and felony by prisoner. She is being held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond. Barr faces charges of possession of controlled substances and is also being held without bond.

Authorities have not released further details regarding the nature of the substances or the amount discovered during the search.
