US Border Patrols Pembina Station Recovers Stolen Vehicle

Driver Apprehended in Canada

NOYES, Minn — On June 23, 2021, Border Patrol Agents assigned to the Pembina Station received information about a suspicious vehicle near the former Noyes Port of Entry.  Agents responded and located an unoccupied vehicle near the Canadian Border.  Further investigation revealed that the vehicle, a Buick Enclave, had been reported stolen in Oklahoma.

In a joint effort with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, the driver of the vehicle was apprehended near Emerson, Manitoba.  The vehicle was turned over to the Kittson County Sherriff’s Office.

“This incident is an excellent example of how we use technology and leverage partnerships with our Canadian law enforcement partners to maintain situational awareness and secure our shared border.” said Acting Chief Patrol Agent Michael W. Hanson.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection is the unified border agency within the Department of Homeland Security charged with the management, control and protection of our nation’s borders at and between official ports of entry. CBP is charged with securing the borders of the United States while enforcing hundreds of laws and facilitating lawful trade and travel.
