U.S. Marshals Offer $10,000 Reward for Fugitive Wanted in 2020 Prince George’s County Murder

Authorities are asking for the public’s help locating a murder suspect who has been on the run for nearly six years, with the U.S. Marshals Service now offering a reward of up to $10,000.

Landover, MD – The Prince George’s County Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Service are seeking the public’s help in locating a man wanted in connection with a 2020 fatal shooting in Landover.

Police are searching for Dayvon Gordon, 34, who is wanted in the killing of Andre Lamont Cox Jr., 22. Investigators obtained an arrest warrant for Gordon shortly after the shooting, but authorities say extensive efforts to locate him have been unsuccessful.

Suspect wanted since 2020

According to police, officers responded on Oct. 27, 2020, to the 3200 block of 75th Avenue after receiving reports of a shooting.

When officers arrived, they found Cox suffering from multiple gunshot wounds outside the location. He was transported for medical treatment but later died from his injuries.

Investigators identified two suspects during the homicide investigation. Police said one suspect was arrested shortly after the shooting, while Gordon has remained a fugitive.

Reward offered for information

Authorities believe Gordon may be receiving assistance from others to avoid capture. His last known address was in Washington, D.C.

The U.S. Marshals Service is now offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to Gordon’s arrest.

As with all criminal cases, Gordon is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
