PARIS — Vice President Vance departed Paris on Tuesday after a morning visit to the U.S. Embassy and a brief motorcade through the city.
The motorcade left the American ambassador’s residence at 11:05 a.m., where Vance and his family had stayed. Upon arrival at the embassy, the vice president met with the families of embassy staff and U.S. Marines. The press pool remained in vans during the approximately 40-minute visit.
At 11:45 a.m., the motorcade resumed, taking a loop around the Arc de Triomphe and crossing the Pont Alexandre III bridge before reaching Orly Airport at 12:27 p.m.
Vance’s children briefly exited the vehicle, with one of them running up the stairs as he carried his youngest daughter, Mirabel. His wife, wearing a black coat, followed behind. The vice president greeted officials and posed for photos with police officers and other apparent law enforcement personnel before boarding the plane at 12:32 p.m.
Vance’s departure marks the conclusion of his visit to France, during which he met with diplomatic and military personnel. Moments ago, Vance touched down in Munich, Germany, where a terrorist attack took place earlier in the day.
