A 21-year-old Venezuelan woman was found murdered and concealed in a futon, as Philly police search for answers in a disturbing Frankford killing.

PHILADELPHIA, PA — A 21-year-old Venezuelan woman was found stabbed to death and hidden inside a futon wrapped in a sheet and shower curtain over the weekend in a Philadelphia apartment, authorities said.

Key Points

  • Victim was a 21-year-old Venezuelan woman living in the U.S. for just one year.
  • Police say she was stabbed multiple times and found wrapped in a sheet and shower curtain.
  • Her body was discovered inside a futon in a Frankford apartment early Saturday morning.

Philadelphia police responded to a call just after 12:30 a.m. Saturday at an apartment on the 4400 block of Frankford Avenue in the city’s Frankford neighborhood. There, officers discovered the woman’s body concealed inside a futon. She had been stabbed multiple times in the neck and torso.

The woman’s identity has not yet been released by authorities, but friends and former co-workers told local media she was an “outgoing” young woman who had arrived from Venezuela about a year ago. They described her as someone who “loved to have fun” and often spent time with friends and their children.

Investigation ongoing, no arrests announced

Police have not announced any arrests or named a suspect. The investigation remains ongoing, and officials are urging anyone with information to come forward.

Authorities have not confirmed how long the body may have been in the apartment or what led them to the scene.
