Republican leaders are calling for an investigation after campaign signs at a Frederick County early voting location were reportedly defaced with obscenities and anti-Semitic messages.
The Maryland Republican Party on Thursday condemned what it described as anti-Semitic vandalism targeting Republican and conservative-aligned campaign signs at Trinity Recreation Center, an early voting location in Frederick County.
The radical left is at it again, doing what they do best…vandalizing, destroying, and being overall indecent human beings.
According to the party, voters, volunteers, and candidates discovered obscenities and anti-Semitic messages on campaign signage Tuesday morning at the recreation center, which serves as one of five early voting locations in the county.
Party Calls for Investigation
The Maryland Republican Party said it stands with the Frederick County Republican Central Committee in seeking a response to the reported vandalism and urging authorities to investigate.
In a statement, party officials characterized the incident as both an act of hate and an attack on the election process.
“This kind of hateful vandalism is an affront to every Marylander who believes in religious liberty, respect, and free and fair elections,” Maryland Republican Party Chairwoman Nicole Beus Harris said.
“We will be watching closely to ensure authorities pursue every lead and that full accountability is delivered to whoever is responsible,” Harris added.
Leaders Condemn Anti-Semitic Messages
Maryland Republican National Committeewoman Nicolee Ambrose also condemned the reported vandalism.
“The Trinity Center Anti-Semitic vandalism is a disgrace to American values,” Ambrose said in a statement. “Our country was founded on religious freedom, and it is abhorrent that any candidate is attacked for their religion.”
The Maryland Republican Party urged the Maryland State Board of Elections to investigate the incident and review any available security camera footage from the ballot drop box located at Trinity Recreation Center.
Call for Public Assistance
Party officials also called on Maryland and Frederick County Democratic leaders to publicly condemn the reported vandalism.
The Maryland Republican Party encouraged residents to report suspicious activity near polling locations to local law enforcement or the party’s Election Integrity Hotline.
