Virginia Beach police arrest suspect in Dam Neck Road rage shooting

Virginia Beach, VA – The Virginia Beach Police Department announced an arrest Friday in connection with a road rage shooting that occurred a day earlier near the intersection of Dam Neck Road and Taylor Farm Road.

Police said they received a 911 call around 8 a.m. on January 22 reporting shots fired between two vehicles. Responding officers found a victim whose car had been struck multiple times by gunfire. No injuries were reported.

Detectives from the department’s Crime Gun Investigative Squad, assisted by the Real Time Crime Center, used technology and surveillance footage to quickly identify the suspect as 27-year-old Kayleb Warren Coker of Chesapeake. Coker was taken into custody without incident.

Coker faces charges including attempted malicious wounding, shooting into an occupied vehicle, shooting from a vehicle, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and discharging a firearm within city limits.
