Virginia Man Severely Wounded in Machete Attack

ALBEMARLE COUNTY, VA – A 51-year-old Charlottesville man has been charged with felony malicious wounding after a machete attack left another man with life-threatening injuries. The Albemarle County Police Department responded to the incident on Wednesday afternoon near Seminole Trail and Myers Drive.

Officers found the victim, an adult male, severely wounded and immediately applied a tourniquet before Albemarle County Fire Rescue transported him to UVA Medical Center. Despite the serious nature of his injuries, the victim is now in stable condition.

The suspect, Frank D. Baldwin, was quickly identified and charged. Authorities confirmed that Baldwin was known to the victim and that the attack was an isolated incident with no ongoing danger to the public. Baldwin is currently being held without bond at the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail.
