GREENSVILLE COUNTY, Va. — A driver who stopped breathing after a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 95 regained a pulse when Virginia State Police troopers and a sheriff’s deputy performed CPR at the scene Monday morning.
The rescue unfolded around 6:32 a.m. near the 10-mile marker northbound, where troopers found the vehicle behind a guardrail close to the Dry Bread Road overpass, according to Virginia State Police.
Emergency response leads to life-saving intervention
Authorities said the driver was unresponsive and not breathing when first responders arrived. Two state troopers, along with a Greensville County Sheriff’s deputy, removed the driver from the vehicle and immediately began CPR.
Emergency medical services crews arrived shortly afterward and continued treatment, at which point the driver regained a pulse, officials said.
