On Wednesday, February 14, Officers Pietricola and Omelyan responded to a call at a home in the 200 block of West Ostrander Ave, where 50-year-old Willie Jones III allegedly threatened his step-daughter with a firearm. Jones was apprehended after officers established a perimeter and secured the victim, with no further incident reported.
A search of the premises revealed a knotted bag of crack cocaine, live ammunition, a Rock River AR-style rifle, a Sentry safe, and a Beretta M9A1 9mm semi-automatic handgun. Jones has been charged with multiple felonies, including criminal possession of a firearm, weapon, and a controlled substance, and is currently held at the Onondaga County Justice Center.
