Westmoreland County player cashes in with $150K Powerball win

A Power Play multiplier turned a winning Powerball ticket into a six-figure payday in Westmoreland County

LOYALHANNA TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A Pennsylvania Lottery player scored a $150K Powerball prize after adding the Power Play option to a winning ticket purchased in Westmoreland County.

The Pennsylvania Lottery announced that a Powerball with Power Play ticket worth $150,000 was sold at Sunoco, located at 2937 State Route 286 in Loyalhanna Township.

The winning ticket matched four of the five white balls drawn — 16, 32, 55, 59 and 64 — along with the red Powerball number 3.

Lottery officials said the ticket’s prize increased from $50,000 to $150,000 because the player purchased the Power Play option and the drawing’s multiplier was three.

Sunoco will receive a $500 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

The identity of the winner has not been released, and the prize remains unclaimed pending validation.

More than 27,300 Pennsylvania Lottery Powerball tickets won prizes of varying amounts in Saturday’s drawing.

The Powerball jackpot has rolled to an estimated $225M annuity, with a cash value of approximately $100.3M for the next drawing.
