WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — A 28-year-old man has been charged with homicide following a fatal shooting on East Northampton Street on Monday, according to the Wilkes-Barre City Police Department. The victim, identified as Lonnie Davis, was found on the sidewalk and later pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Officers responded to the scene on September 9 after receiving reports of a shooting. Medics transported Davis to Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead from multiple gunshot wounds, according to an autopsy conducted on Tuesday. The Luzerne County Coroner’s Office ruled the death a homicide.

The suspect, Brandon Decastillio, was taken into custody after investigators identified his vehicle with assistance from Kingston police. Decastillio was charged with homicide and other related offenses on Tuesday. He is being held without bail, pending further court proceedings.

The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with additional information is urged to contact Wilkes-Barre detectives.
