Woman Accosted on NYC Subway Train, Suspect Caught on Video

NEW YORK — The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a man wanted in connection with a forcible touching incident that occurred on a northbound 5 train in the Bronx late last month.

According to police reports, the incident took place on Friday, Oct. 25, around 4:30 p.m., as a 29-year-old woman was standing onboard the 5 train approaching the 149 Street-Grand Concourse subway station. An unidentified man allegedly approached the woman from behind and grabbed her buttocks as she was exiting the train. The man then exited the train and boarded a northbound 2 train, police said.

The individual is described as a male with a dark complexion, estimated to be between 30 and 40 years old, with a height of approximately 5 feet, 9 inches to 6 feet, 1 inch, and weighing between 180 and 210 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue knit hat, a blue hooded sweatshirt, black jeans, and brown work boots.

No injuries were reported in connection with the incident. Police have released an image of the suspect and are seeking the public’s help in identifying him.
