Woman arrested after loaded handgun found at Glen Burnie crash scene

GLEN BURNIE, MD – A traffic crash investigation in Glen Burnie led to two arrests Tuesday night after officers discovered a loaded handgun at the scene, Anne Arundel County Police said.

The incident happened around 7 p.m. near Elvaton Road and Hidden Brook Drive.

Officers responding to the crash learned that the driver of one of the vehicles had handed a firearm to a woman shortly after the collision.

Loaded Glock recovered

Police said the woman was found to be carrying a loaded 9mm Glock handgun. The firearm was immediately secured by responding officers, and both individuals were taken into custody without incident.

The driver was identified as 28-year-old Raphael Szeman of Stevensville, and the woman as 27-year-old Lilian Hazel of Annapolis. Both now face weapons-related charges.

Investigation ongoing

Anne Arundel County Police said the arrests stemmed from swift action by officers at the crash site, which remains under investigation. No injuries from the collision were reported.

Authorities have not released further details on the origin of the firearm or whether it was legally owned.
