Kidnapping and Assault Incident at Aldi Parking Lot Leads to Suspect’s Arrest

Toms River, NJ – A disturbance at Aldi, located at 86 Route 70, escalated into a kidnapping and assault incident, resulting in the arrest of the suspect.

On February 25, at approximately 6:55 PM, Toms River Police were called to Aldi for a report of customers arguing in the parking lot. Upon their arrival, the involved parties had already left the scene. Investigations revealed that a female was kidnapped at knifepoint by a male acquaintance, who subsequently assaulted her and left her unconscious at another location. The victim was transported to a local hospital to receive medical attention for her injuries.

The suspect, Luis Morenogutierrez, was later apprehended by the Englewood Police Department and taken to Toms River Police Headquarters. He is facing charges including kidnapping, aggravated assault, and possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes.
