Woman Dies After Being Struck by Vehicle on Battlefield Boulevard in Chesapeake

An adult woman died after being struck by a vehicle on Battlefield Boulevard Thursday night, and Chesapeake Police are asking anyone with information to come forward.

An adult female pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle Thursday night in the 2200 block of Battlefield Boulevard near Campostella Road in Chesapeake, Virginia. Chesapeake Police Department officers responded to the scene at about 10 p.m., where they found the woman suffering from life-threatening injuries.

She was taken to a local hospital, where she later died. Police said the pedestrian’s identity has not yet been confirmed, and the investigation into the fatal crash remains ongoing.

Crash remains under investigation

According to the Chesapeake Police Department, the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene following the collision and is cooperating with investigators. Authorities have not released additional details about the circumstances leading up to the crash.

Police said in a news release, “Upon arrival, officers located the woman suffering from life-threatening injuries. She was transported to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased.”
