Woman pronounced dead after stabbing on Penny Drive

PENN HILLS, PA — A woman died after being stabbed in Penn Hills Thursday night, prompting an Allegheny County homicide investigation, authorities said.

County 9-1-1 received reports around 9:39 p.m. May 7 of a female suffering from stab wounds in the 700 block of Penny Drive.

Investigators said the victim was transported by private vehicle to UPMC Mercy Hospital before emergency responders arrived at the scene.

The woman was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Allegheny County Police homicide detectives responded after local authorities requested assistance with the investigation.

Officials have not yet released the victim’s identity or information about a possible suspect.

Detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the deadly stabbing.
