BRONX, NY – A daytime confrontation on Webster Avenue turned violent Saturday afternoon when a woman struck a 61-year-old man and damaged his cellphone before fleeing the scene, police said.

The incident occurred around 1:20 p.m. in front of 1363 Webster Avenue, where the victim and the unidentified woman became involved in a verbal dispute. During the argument, the woman allegedly took the man’s cellphone and struck him in the face, causing a minor laceration. She then threw the phone to the ground, breaking it, before running from the scene on foot toward an unknown location.

Emergency medical personnel responded and treated the victim at the scene for minor injuries.

The suspect is described as a female with a medium complexion who was last seen wearing a black jacket and a black knit hat.
