Woman stabbed on thanksgiving at same complex where naz reid's sister was murdered two months ago

Suspect captured after stabbing at Paragon apartments, same site of deadly September shooting

JACKSON, N.J. – A woman was stabbed and rushed to the hospital on Thanksgiving in Jackson Township, now, her attempted killer is behind bars.

Police have arrested a man wanted in connection with a stabbing late Thursday night at the Paragon Apartments, the same Jackson Township complex where a fatal shooting claimed the life of 28-year-old Toraya Reid in September.

Officers responded around 11:36 p.m. to 1020 Larsen Road for reports of a woman stabbed in the abdomen by a male suspect later identified as Jaden Thompson.

When officers arrived, they found the victim severely injured on the floor as a family member tried to stop the bleeding and identified Thompson as the attacker.

Thompson fled the scene in a black 2012 Nissan Altima with New Jersey plates SUV51A but was captured several hours later and booked into the Ocean County Jail.

Police said the victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment; her current condition has not been released.

Paragon Apartments again the scene of violence

Thursday’s stabbing marks the second major violent incident at the Paragon Apartments in less than three months. On September 6, officers responded to the same Larsen Road complex after reports of gunfire and found Toraya Reid, 28, shot multiple times near the exit of the property.

Reid, who was the sister of Minnesota Timberwolves player Naz Reid, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her death remains under active investigation by county prosecutors.

Ongoing investigation and community concern

The Jackson Police Department confirmed that Thompson faces charges including first-degree attempted murder and related offenses. Authorities have not released a possible motive for the attack.
