Philadelphia police have arrested a woman who was wanted in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 28-year-old woman earlier this week in North Philadelphia.
A woman sought in connection with a fatal stabbing in North Philadelphia has been taken into custody, police announced Wednesday.
The Philadelphia Police Department said officers from the 22nd District arrested Zayahshay Davis in the area of 12th and Huntingdon streets on June 24.
Following the arrest, Davis was transported to Homicide Headquarters, where she is being held as investigators continue processing the case, according to police.
Arrest follows public appeal
Earlier Wednesday, the Philadelphia Police Department’s Homicide Unit asked for the public’s help locating Davis in connection with the death of 28-year-old Sariah Conover.
Police said Conover was fatally stabbed Monday at approximately 5:52 p.m. in the 1300 block of West Lehigh Avenue.
Authorities issued a public request for information before announcing later that day that Davis had been apprehended.
Investigation continues
Police have not released additional details about the circumstances surrounding the stabbing or any charges filed following the arrest.
Officials said updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
The investigation remains ongoing.
