NEW YORK CITY, NY — The New York City Police Department is calling for public assistance in identifying a suspect linked to a series of violent robberies within the confines of the 102nd and 106th Precincts in Queens.
The attacks, targeting women, occurred on the evening of Thursday, March 7, and involved physical assault and theft.
Incident Details:
First Incident: In the 106th Precinct, at approximately 8:25 p.m., a 71-year-old woman was assaulted near 105-44 86th Street. The assailant approached her from behind, wrapped his arms around her neck, and threw her to the ground. He then proceeded to punch the victim in the face before taking her purse, which contained various items. The attacker was last seen fleeing northbound on 86th Street. The victim declined medical treatment at the scene.
Second Incident: Shortly after that, at around 8:50 p.m., near the 102nd Precinct, a 51-year-old woman was walking near 97-15 87th Street when an unknown male approached her. The suspect pushed the victim to the ground and forcibly took her belongings. He was last observed escaping northbound on foot on 87th Street. This victim also refused medical attention on the scene.
The NYPD has released media related to the suspect in hopes that members of the public can aid in his identification and apprehension. The authorities urge anyone with information about these incidents or the suspect’s identity to come forward.
