14-year-old clings to life after D.C. triple shooting leaves two dead

WASHINGTON, DC — A shooting late Friday night on a Southeast DC street left two young males dead and another teen fighting for his life, prompting a double homicide investigation by the city’s Major Case Squad.

Officers responded around 10:19 p.m. to the 4200 block of 4th Street, Southeast, after multiple gunshots were reported. When they arrived, they found three male victims suffering from gunshot wounds in the roadway.

A 16-year-old boy, Royell Walker, and a 19-year-old man, Jamar Jackson — both residents of Southeast — were pronounced dead at the scene. A 14-year-old male was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to police.

No arrests have been made and a motive has not been released. The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have not indicated whether the victims were targeted or if the shooting was random.

Reward offered as police search for suspects

The Metropolitan Police Department is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for each victim, totaling $50,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual or individuals responsible.
