ALEXANDRIA, VA — Authorities have identified the victim of a fatal shooting in the Canterbury Square neighborhood as 19-year-old Deaundre Jack of Alexandria, who was killed Saturday night after suffering multiple gunshot wounds in a residential parking lot.
The Alexandria Police Department said officers responded to a report of gunfire at approximately 10:15 p.m. on April 19 at 22 Canterbury Square. When they arrived, they discovered Jack lying on the ground with critical injuries. Officers provided life-saving aid until medics from the Alexandria Fire Department took over, but the teen later succumbed to his injuries.
“The Office of the Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death,” police noted in a news release issued Monday.
Detectives are now canvassing the area and asking for public assistance in identifying those responsible. A digital portal has been set up to allow members of the community to upload photos, videos, or other information that may aid the investigation. Information can also be submitted via a QR code included in the police bulletin.
