CHERRY HILL, NJ – Chief Houlihan and members of the Cherry Hill Fire Department joined Mayor Susan Shin Angulo, members of the Township Council, County Commissioner Melinda Kane, and the Cherry Hill Police Department on Monday morning to lay a wreath at the Township’s 9/11 memorial.

The memorial honors the 2,977 individuals who lost their lives during the 9/11 attacks, including 411 first responders. The centerpiece of the memorial is a 3-foot long piece of steel from 1 World Trade Center, suspended between two black granite towers.

The granite towers stand on a pentagon-shaped base, symbolizing the Pentagon, another target of the attacks. The Cherry Hill Police Department asked the public to visit the memorial to pay their respects.

The ceremony took place in Cherry Hill Township and was supported by the Camden County Government and Cherry Hill Public Schools.

For those interested in visiting, the memorial is open to the public.
