Man found dead in early morning on Glenarden Parkway homicide investigation underway
Glenarden, MD – A 37-year-old man was found dead outside on a Glenarden street early Sunday morning, sparking a homicide investigation as detectives work to determine what led to the deadly incident, officials confirmed.
At approximately 5:10 a.m. on January 25, officers from the Glenarden Police Department responded to the 7900 block of Glenarden Parkway after receiving reports of an unresponsive person. Upon arrival, they located Matthew Hinkle, a Glenarden resident, suffering from visible trauma. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Prince George’s County Police Department Homicide Unit is leading the investigation, which remains in its early stages. Detectives have not yet identified a suspect or established a motive. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will perform an autopsy to determine the official cause of death.
A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.
All homicides that occur within the city of Glenarden fall under the jurisdiction of the Prince George’s County Police Department.
