BALTIMORE, MARYLAND – A tragic hit-and-run incident has occurred in Baltimore, leading to the untimely death of a pedestrian. On Sunday morning, at around 4:02 a.m., Baltimore police officers were dispatched to the 3500 block of Reisterstown Road following reports of an injured pedestrian on the roadway.

Upon arrival, officers found a female victim and immediately rendered aid. She was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital but, despite the best efforts of medical personnel, was pronounced deceased.

The victim has been identified as 64-year-old Wilma Barnes. CRASH Team investigators, who took over the investigation at the scene, believe Ms. Barnes was struck by an unidentified black vehicle. In a disheartening turn of events, the driver of the vehicle fled the scene after the incident.
