Dover Man Arrested for Capital Green Murder

DOVER, DE—The Dover Police Department has made an arrest in connection with the murder of 29-year-old Jonair Pollard, who was fatally shot in the Capital Green area on May 25, 2024. William Mills, a 59-year-old resident of Dover, has been charged with the crime.

Following a detailed investigation, detectives identified Mills as the suspect responsible for the shooting. On May 26, 2024, the Special Operations Response Team of the Dover Police Department executed a search warrant at Mills’ residence located at 400 East Wind Drive. He was arrested without incident and taken to the Dover Police Department for processing and arraignment.

Mills faces several charges including Murder First Degree, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, and Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited. He was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $250,000 cash bail.
