WASHINGTON, DC — Authorities are seeking community assistance to identify a suspect involved in the fatal shooting of a man in Northwest. The incident occurred last Wednesday at around 12:04 AM when D.C. Metro Police Department officers were called to the unit block of Hanover Place, Northwest, following reports of a shooting. They discovered a man in the road with gunshot wounds, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim was identified as 34-year-old Maurice Downing, a resident of Northwest, D.C. The suspect was caught on surveillance footage, which has been released to the public.

The D.C. Metro Police Department urges anyone with information about this crime to contact them at (202) 727-9099 or send a tip via text to their TEXT TIP LINE at 50411.

The department is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for this or any other violent crime in the district.
