NEW YORK CITY, NY — A devastating family tragedy unfolded in Brooklyn as a 24-year-old man, Shahboz Rajabboev, was arrested on Sunday for the murder of four family members, including his own mother and two young children. The gruesome discovery was made in their Bensonhurst apartment.

Rajabboev is facing charges of four counts of first-degree murder and four counts of second-degree murder. The victims identified are his mother, Mavlyuda Fayzieva, 56; his sister-in-law, Maftuna Khakimova, 27; and his niece and nephew, Kamila Shavkatova, 5, and Timur Shavkatov, 4. The crime scene was first encountered by the children’s father, who tragically found his family deceased upon returning home.

The New York Police Department responded to a distress call around 10:30 PM on Friday, finding Fayzieva with multiple stab wounds. Further investigation led to the discovery of the other victims within the apartment. Rajabboev, found at the scene and visibly distressed, was taken into custody after a 911 call he made himself, admitting to the crime.

This incident has left the community and the family’s relatives in profound grief, mourning the incomprehensible loss of life under such tragic circumstances.
