Jackson Knights of Columbus to Host First Annual Military Appreciation Day

JACKSON, NJ—The local Knights of Columbus are gearing up to host their 1st Annual Military Appreciation Day, set for Saturday, August 3, 2024, at their Council home on Bartley Road in Jackson. A rain date is scheduled for August 4.

This inaugural event is dedicated to honoring and supporting both veterans and active military personnel. All proceeds from the event will benefit two significant causes: the Knights of Columbus’ Send a Hero Home for the Holidays program and Rebuilding Warriors.

The Send a Hero Home program assists active military members from local New Jersey bases in traveling home for the holidays by covering their plane ticket costs. Meanwhile, Rebuilding Warriors provides highly trained service/companion dogs to veterans who are amputees or diagnosed with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) or TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury).

Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs to enjoy the day’s activities, which will include live music. Additionally, a Super 50/50 raffle will be held, with tickets available for purchase at $10 each at the club. This event offers a fantastic opportunity for the community to come together in support of those who have served and continue to serve our country.
