WILKES-BARRE, PA – A routine patrol led to the arrest of a fugitive from justice at the Intermodal Transportation Center in Wilkes-Barre, PA.

Jose Torres, 40, of Wilkes-Barre, was taken into custody on August 5, at approximately 3:10 PM.

Torres was initially contacted by officers for riding a bicycle inside the terminal, a violation of the Center’s regulations. During the investigation, officers discovered that Torres had an active arrest warrant from the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Office in Ohio, where he is wanted for burglary.

Following the discovery, Torres was arrested and transported to City Headquarters for arraignment. The arrest underscores the effectiveness of local law enforcement patrols in maintaining public safety and enforcing the law.
