NUTLEY, N.J. — A police investigation on Thursday led to a temporary lockdown of schools in the Nutley area, according to the Nutley Police Department. The lockdown was implemented as a precaution while authorities addressed the situation.

The Nutley Police Department confirmed that no Nutley school was ever in direct danger during the incident. Additionally, officials stated that no specific threat was made toward any school in the district.

“The lockdown was lifted after the investigation was concluded,” the department said in a statement shared on social media.

The details surrounding the nature of the investigation have not yet been disclosed by police.

All schools resumed normal operations following the lockdown.
