Young New Jersey Entrepreneurs Donate Portion of Summer Profits to Save Marine Mammals

BRIGANTINE, N.J. — A group of young entrepreneurs from the Brigantine Farmer’s Market “Dolphin Tank” program presented a donation of $575 to the Marine Mammal Stranding Center (MMSC) on Saturday. The funds were raised as part of the students’ commitment to donate 10% of their summer profits to a local non-profit organization.

The “Dolphin Tank” program, which teaches students business skills and community responsibility, required participants to submit a business plan to be considered. Over the summer, the students sold various items at the market, with a portion of their earnings set aside for the donation.

The presentation took place at the MMSC, where Sierra, Lahna, Lyla, Maggie, and Zoey, the students involved, handed over the check to Sheila Dean of the MMSC.

The donation will go toward supporting the work of the MMSC, which focuses on the rescue and rehabilitation of stranded marine animals along the New Jersey coast.
