Three arrested after stabbing and gun discovery in new rochelle — Police light

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. — New Rochelle Police arrested three individuals early Tuesday morning following a stabbing incident and the discovery of a firearm. The arrests stemmed from a stabbing reported at Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital, where a 20-year-old Bronx man sought treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police were called to the hospital at approximately 12:58 a.m. on September 17, 2024, after the stabbing victim drove himself to the emergency room. The victim told officers that his girlfriend had stabbed him in the back during an altercation at her home on 4th Street in New Rochelle.

While police were interviewing the victim, the suspect, 18-year-old Danasia Hollis of New Rochelle, arrived at the hospital. She was identified by the victim and taken into custody without incident. Officers recovered the knife allegedly used in the stabbing on her person.

During the investigation, officers secured the victim’s vehicle, which had a significant amount of blood inside. A search of the car led to the discovery of a .25 caliber handgun. As a result, both the victim, Tyshawn Jackson, and a friend who accompanied him to the hospital, Tyree Anderson, were arrested without incident.

Arrested and charged:

Danasia Hollis, 18, of New Rochelle, was charged with Assault in the Second Degree, a D felony.
Tyshawn Jackson, 20, of the Bronx, and Tyree Anderson, 21, of the Bronx, were both charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, a C felony.

The investigation remains ongoing.
