Queens Man Arrested in Subway Groping Incident

QUEENS, N.Y. — The New York City Police Department has announced the recent arrest of a Queens man on charges related to forcible touching and sexual abuse. The arrest, part of an ongoing investigation, took place on October 22 at 9:32 a.m. in the 102nd Precinct.

The suspect, identified as 51-year-old Abu Bhuiyn Biplob of 168-07 89 Avenue in Queens, faces charges of forcible touching and third-degree sexual abuse. The NYPD has not released additional details on the incident that led to his arrest.

According to police, a 40-year-old woman was waiting for the northbound E train at the 74th Street–Jackson Heights/Roosevelt Avenue station on September 15 at approximately 4 p.m. when an unidentified man approached and grabbed her buttocks without consent.

He then exited the train at the station, disappearing into the crowd. No injuries were reported.

The NYPD has released images of the individual sought in connection with the subway incident and is urging anyone with information on his identity or whereabouts to come forward. Both cases underscore ongoing concerns about harassment and public safety in the city’s transit system.
