WOODBRIDGE, Va. — A 55-year-old man was arrested Wednesday evening after allegedly assaulting a law enforcement officer and attempting to flee while officers attempted to take him into custody on active warrants, police said.

The incident occurred around 8:39 p.m. on November 6 near the intersection of Jeffries Road and Bell Air Road in Woodbridge. According to police, officers located Vincent Edward Dillard, who was wanted on outstanding warrants, and attempted to arrest him.
