Deadly double shooting in Baltimore leaves one dead

BALTIMORE, Md. — A fatal double shooting in Northeast Baltimore left one man dead and another injured Saturday evening, according to police.

Northeast District officers were patrolling near the 5900 block of Belair Road on November 9, 2024, around 6:33 p.m. when they heard gunfire coming from the nearby 4200 block of Powell Avenue. Arriving at the scene, officers found a 46-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. He was transported to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Shortly afterward, a second victim, a 24-year-old man, arrived at a hospital with multiple gunshot wounds to his back. Investigators determined he had been shot at the same location on Powell Avenue. The younger victim is currently in stable condition.

Baltimore Police Department Homicide detectives are leading the investigation and are asking anyone with information to come forward. Tips can be provided by calling 410-396-2100.
