Fatal bus shooting in Baltimore leads to arrest of 61-year-old suspect

BALTIMORE, MD – A 61-year-old Baltimore man has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with the fatal shooting of a fellow bus passenger on South Eutaw Street last month.

On November 30, at approximately 2 p.m., Central District officers responded to reports of a shooting on a bus in the unit block of South Eutaw Street. They found 30-year-old William Womack suffering from gunshot wounds. Womack was transported to a hospital, where he later died.

Detectives identified James Richburg as the suspect, learning that he shot Womack following a dispute. On December 9, Richburg was arrested without incident while riding an MTA bus in the 1600 block of North Fulton Avenue. He was transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility and charged with first-degree murder.
