Maryland man sentenced to 41 years for sexual assault of new jersey child

MOUNT HOLLY, N.J. — A Maryland man has been sentenced to 41 years in New Jersey state prison for repeatedly sexually assaulting a six-year-old girl in Burlington County, prosecutors announced Friday.

Kevin Williams, 34, of Clinton, Maryland, was convicted in July on two counts of aggravated sexual assault (first degree) and four counts of sexual assault (second degree). The sentence, issued by Superior Court Judge Richard J. Nocella in Mount Holly, requires Williams to serve 38 years before he is eligible for parole.

The assaults occurred on multiple occasions several years ago. Williams was arrested in December 2020 by Maryland State Police. Authorities have withheld additional details to protect the identity of the victim.

Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia L. Bradshaw praised the victim’s bravery during the legal process. “The victim in this case endured abuse that continues to traumatize her to this day,” Bradshaw said in a statement. “We admire the strength and determination she displayed during the prosecution, and hope the justice that was brought on her behalf is meaningful as she pursues a happy, fulfilling life.”
