FREDERICK, Md. — Twenty officers from the Frederick Police Department traveled to Washington, D.C., on Monday to assist with security efforts for the Presidential Inauguration. They joined approximately 3,500 law enforcement officers from across the country to help ensure the event was safe and secure.
Officers worked more than 12 hours in extreme cold as part of the massive security operation surrounding the historic event. The Frederick Police Department emphasized that their role was nonpartisan, focused solely on supporting one of the nation’s most significant democratic traditions.
“Our participation wasn’t about politics—it was about upholding one of our nation’s most honored traditions and contributing to its success,” the department said in a statement shared on social media.
The Frederick officers were part of a coordinated effort that included federal, state, and local agencies working together to manage crowd control, monitor public safety, and provide logistical support during the inauguration.
The department expressed pride in its officers’ professionalism and dedication during their deployment, highlighting their representation of Frederick on a national stage.
