The incident occurred on January 15 at approximately 12:50 p.m. when a school resource officer and staff responded to a fight involving multiple students in a hallway at the school, located at 1901 S. During the fight, a 16-year-old from New Castle and a 17-year-old from Newark allegedly kicked a 17-year-old from Bear, who was transported to a hospital and later released. The 17-year-old from Newark also allegedly kicked another 17-year-old from Bear, who was evaluated by the school nurse and released to a guardian.

On January 27, the 16-year-old from New Castle and the 17-year-old from Newark turned themselves in at Troop 2 and were charged with multiple offenses. The other students involved were charged with misdemeanor offenses and released to their guardians.
