TAMARAC, F.L. — A man is in custody after allegedly killing three people in Tamarac early Sunday morning and briefly abducting his four-year-old daughter, authorities said.
The Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) responded to a shooting at approximately 6:02 a.m. at 5897 North Plum Bay Parkway, where deputies found David Ponzer, 64, fatally shot on the back patio. Investigators later discovered two additional victims—Mary Gingles, 34, and Andrew Ferrin, 36—both dead from gunshot wounds inside a neighboring residence.
Authorities quickly issued an Amber Alert for Seraphine Gingles, who was taken from the scene by her father, Nathan Gingles, 43. He was believed to be driving a silver 2016 BMW X3. BSO’s Violence Intervention Proactive Enforcement Response (V.I.P.E.R.) unit located the vehicle at 7900 West McNab Road in North Lauderdale shortly before 11 a.m. The child was found safe and unharmed, and Gingles was taken into custody without incident.
A firearm believed to have been used in the murders was recovered from a nearby canal by the BSO Dive Team. Gingles faces multiple charges, including three counts of first-degree murder, violation of a domestic violence injunction, and interference with custody. He is being held at the Broward County Main Jail.
