SELLERSBURG, Ind. — A southern Indiana man has been arrested and charged with felony intimidation after allegedly posting life-threatening statements directed at billionaire Elon Musk on X, formerly known as Twitter, authorities said.

David Allen June Cherry, 28, was taken into custody Tuesday morning after Texas authorities alerted the Indiana State Police (ISP) to threatening posts they traced to an X account allegedly belonging to him. ISP detectives located Cherry in Clarksville, Indiana, and arrested him without incident before transporting him to the Sellersburg Post for questioning.

Following his arrest, ISP detectives obtained a search warrant for Cherry’s residence in Palmyra. During the search, officers seized an AR-15-style rifle, a handgun, ammunition, and a ballistic vest, police said.

Cherry has been charged with intimidation, a Level 5 felony in Indiana, and is being held without bond at the Harrison County Jail.

Authorities are continuing their investigation into the alleged threats against Musk.
